"Dreamers of The World Unite" - Inpress Review

"There’s a distinct touch of Neil Young about Brisbane-born, Melbourne-based singer/songwriter Dan Lethbridge’s album Dreamers Of The World Unite. In particular, Lethbridge’s solo debut recalls Young’s early ‘70s output, including the classics Harvest and After The Gold Rush – this album shares those records' gentle, neo-pastoral instrumentation, and Lethbridge’s voice has a quavery warmth that recalls Young’s distinctive vocal style.

That’s not to say that Lethbridge’s music is overly derivative though – more that it’s reminiscent of the very best of his chosen genre. The songs on Dreamers… are largely acoustic, with arrangements that take on a country tinge without ever veering into boot-scooting territory, and lyrics that are melancholy but never forlorn. The whole package makes for an excellent alt.country album by a fine local talent, and a remarkably assured debut".
