In 2006, Sean Taylor (drums), David Crowley (guitar/vocals) and Jamie Cavalieros (bass) gave name to the birth of their journey as a band: Sons Of Abraham. Over the course of a year, they had prepared a set of original material and were now faced the new daunting challenge of playing live. The electic and everchanging Melbourne live scene proved to be the perfect place to gig regularly in a wide variety of different clubs amongst a whole host of talented bands.SOA's attitude "anywhere, anytime" allowed them to explore this scene to its fullest.
By late 2007, the well tested material was ready for the next step – recording. The band was eager to choose a track list that would accurately encapsulate SOA's journey thus far. As it turned out, there was little debate in selecting this list - it would become SOA's debut EP titled "The Pushing Foreword". The main goal with this recording was to reflect the band's live dynamic and highlight the strengths rather than cover any weaknesses.
The July 2008 release of The Pushing Foreword will see the end of one chapter for Sons Of Abraham but more importantly, the beginning of another. With their debut EP Sean, David and Jamie hope to spread the message, the music and open the minds of anyone willing to listen.
