This Adelaide-based Producer/MC has achieved quite a lot in his relatively short career. After 5 years, Hektic has produced for some of Adelaides finest local talent including Jahmin [Poetikool Justice], D.R.U.Z.E., Sintax, Benny, and A.B.Z. As an artist he has performed a variety of venues both local and interstate including Thebarton Theatre, Governor Hindmarsh, Jubilee Hotel (QLD), Club 77 (NSW), Westfield Marion Main Stage, West Beach Shores, Adelaide Uni, Coopers Ale House, The Seacliff, Cabaret Caf, Lizard Lounge, The Basement, Duke of York and Crown & Anchor.
Hektic began MCing after realizing the potential to convey his thoughts and opinions while entertaining crowds and having fun. Over time he has become known for his energetic performances and the personal insight prevalent in his songwriting. Relating to an Australian upbringing his lyrics reflect a more tranquil way of life as opposed to the gangster themes generally explored in American rap. He talks on subjects ranging from moving interstate and politics to eating disorders, youth suicide and depression.
2007 is shaping up to be a big year for this 29 year old MC/Producer. Hektic has just returned from a sellout show in Brisbane with more interstate performances in the works.
