The Distance

The-Distance

Upon seeing the Distance it's easy to see why they are fast becoming one of Australia's must see live acts. With an incredible warmth and energy that exudes from the band it's hard not to be sucked into the catchy melodies and flowing harmonies of their original music. The guys have only been together just on three years but have already notched up some incredible achievements. Not long after forming they hit the studio to record their debut album 'Don't look back',  released into music stores right around the country. The first single release 'Get a little Dirt on your Hands' with Australian country music legend 'Johnny Chester' on guest vocals received strong airplay across the country and helped John to win 'best independent release' at last years Victorian CM awards. The band itself were top 5 finishers in 4 other categories, including 'best album' and 'best vocal'. Their debut album spawned three more radio singles 'Don't Look Back', 'This Land' and 'Waiting'. The video clips for all three songs were played constantly on CMC and helped The Distance set their mark with country fans across Australia. The band toured the east coast of Australia later that year in support of their debut album and won over many new fans on the way. At the 2007 Tamworth Country Music festival the band was asked to play as part of the official opening ceremony concert. And to top off a great year the band played on the main stage to close the entertainment at this years Deniliquin Ute Muster in front of thousands of late night revelers. This is band that is just as comfortable in the corner of a pub playing a heartfelt ballad or rockin it out on the big stage.

The Distance are currently completing their follow up album which will be released in January 2008.
