Eva Popov
Me, The Sea & Stars
Melbourne songwriter Eva Popov began her debut album Me, Sea & Stars as an endeavor to make sense of loss. This collection of songs stare out from the edges of life with rawness, honesty and awe, pieced together with strings, horns banjo and mandolin instrumentation that ranges from brittle to luscious. It was built with the production of Nick Huggins (Whitley) and the collaboration of Melissa Collins on violin and Tom Heathcote on Double Bass.
Released January 2008, it has received airplay on local stations and Triple J. Eva recently won Triple J's Fuse Music competition which sent her and her band to perform at the music industry showcase in Adelaide. Me, the Sea & Stars follows up her debut EP Photos of the Sun. A warm and engaging live performer, she has appeared in venues and festivals across Australia. She appears solo and with a band of strings, drums and bass.
