Cleverhorse is a five piece ensemble who cite influences from ambient to avant garde, funk to folk, jazz to jam band and world music. Led by Robbie Melville (composer/guitarist), they sport: guitar, alto & tenor saxes, electric bass and drums; as well as some funky machines for making loops, effects, samples and sounds.
After five years of growth and change, and two years of recording, cleverhorse are finally releasing their debut album “Goodnight, Mr. Monster”. Led by guitarist Robbie Melville, cleverhorse has a unique sound that draws upon jazz harmony, earthy cinematic sound collages, psychedelic grooves, free improvisation, minimalism and an ever present yearning for a beautiful melody.
