Pony Girl

Aha Akousti Kah

Pony Girls second EP sees her record a more stripped back sound to highlight the story of each song. Self produced and released on her own label, Dark Horses by the River Records, the EP contains four new songs and acoustic versions of previously recorded "Take My Gun" and "Lightening Lights"

The songs express themes of loss, conflict, depression and anger, by products from experiencing and ending to the things that are held close to our hearts. This is balanced by the light hearted fantasy of "Rock Drummer Boy" where the protagonist in the song day dreams about a road trip style tour of the United States culminating in a spontaneaous marriage to her drummer in Nashville, Tennessee and of the hope and healing that comes with new love in "Lightening Lights".

Overall the use of slide guitar, harmonica and a little percussion along with a mix of electric and acoustic guitar give the songs on Aha Akoust Kah a pared back country rock feel that carries the listener through the world of each song.
