THE SICKBOY SHUFFLE PREPARES TO LAUNCH

After a fairly dormant July, Sickboy is gearing up for an awkward sprint around NSW and the ACT in a frenzy of shows following the official August 9th release of their new EP, WATER NEVER WAITS.  This three piece garage folk/punk outfit is setting out to prove that even cash-strapped bands driving a dying band-mobile from Port Macquarie are every bit as noteworthy as their city counterparts.  Even when you can’t sprint around like rock n’ roll kings you can always leave early and shuffle your way to the gig.

There are a total of 7 shows in 2 weeks, 4 of which will be happening in various parts of Sydney.  To keep things lively, Sickboy will be putting on a variety of it’s musical masks and drawing on 10 years of original material, including songs from the Anti-folk past of singer/guitarist Mark Spence.  Newcastle’s Lass O’Gowrie will get a typical overdriven mix of Sickboy’s folk-songs, but Sydney’s Cat & Fiddle and Canberra’s Phoenix Bar will be getting a more stripped down acoustic affair, replete with harmonica, Irish tin whistle, and Celtic bodran.  Of course, all this pent up energy must be let loose at some point, so they will amp things into a frenzy as they attempt to keep up with Sonorcast at the Excelsior Hotel, as well as play host to the unholy at a Sinday & the Sando event for their final show of the month.

Tour dates and support acts are below.  Sickboy is available for interviews and on-air appearances, and are currently booking shows for the remainder of Spring and Summer.
